Fifty stocks listed on the New York stock exchange propelled the Bull market of the early ’70s. These came to be known as the ‘Nifty Fifty’ and they represented some of the most successful corporations in the world.
It is from here that we took the inspiration for our name. It was our goal to capture the business lessons of the people running the world’s leading organisations as the gatekeepers of global business success.
When we passed fifty we decided to keep the name as a reminder of our early aspirations and how we surpassed them, as a lesson to ourselves to always aim high.
Most of the original Nifty Fifty are still solid performers, though a few are now defunct and some others have been acquired by, or merged with, other companies. Here is the list:
